September has arrived

I made pesto.
There are thirteen cucumbers stacked on the kitchen counter, and that's just from this morning.
The hummingbirds are migrating. Every morning there are ... discussions, shall we say ... in our yard between various hummingbirds negotiating their migratory territories and specifically, who gets to use the hummingbird feeder first.
Every day there are occasional THOCK THOCK noised as acorns drop from the oak tree onto the eaves, the roof, and the chimney cap. Especially the chimney cap.
The orb weaver spiders are in their heightened activity phase, and also they are fucking huge right now.
The juvenile catbirds and bluejays are clumsily squawking and screeching from tree to tree.
Soon I will bake bread ...
