Fuck it, here's a new rule:
We cannot say something -- a meme, a show, a song, a work of art, a dress, what the fuck ever -- "embodies" the spirit/vibe/soul/aesthetic/wtfever of any time period closer than 20 years ago.
Sure, fine, say something is very Y2K, whatevs. Say something is the spirit of the early 00s. I don't care.
But 2015 is ONLY EIGHT YEARS AGO. We cannot POSSIBLY as a humanity have any sort of distance from 2015 required to assess its gestalt, its ouvre, its giss.
Twenty years. The length of time it takes for a grown-ass adult to have been born AFTER THE TIME IN QUESTION. Two decades.
New rule.
