It's mid-January
Jan. 16th, 2024 08:58 amIt's mid-January, it's the normal amount of cold here, with not enough snow. We haven't had huge storms, they all went south of us. We have power and heat and water and the roads are clear for errands.
Not much is happening.
I've knit three dog sweater for our tiny dogs, I do this every winter to replenish the stock as some dog coats get worn out, and I have three more intended. I've made one wire-woven necklace and have plans to do more.
It's very quiet here.
The sun is out and the sky is the hard, pale blue of midwinter, the color of eyelashes freezing when one runs to take the garbage and recycling out in the evening. The day is longer than it was a month ago, soon it will be light when I put the kettle on for my morning tea.
Now is the time to sit, and eat, and pull the shawl closer around, and ponder.
