Feb. 20th, 2024 10:03 amMy feelings about the Hugo Awards debacle have gone from schadenfreude to WTF to "Florida Politics Fuckery," and it's no longer even slightly entertaining.
One guy, one abusive, sexually-harrassing-and-assaulting, racist, gaslighting, power-hungry motherfucker, seems to have personally shat upon an institution that many friends of mine care deeply about, an institution that I have been honored by in the past, an institution that has been important and meaningful to me my entire life.
One fucking dude.
When motherfucking Congressional Committees are calling people up to find out whether Worldcon violated U.S. trade sanctions, jesusfuckingchrist. When hundreds of ballots were just removed, because racism. When these ignorant-ass motherfuckers do not know the difference between Nepal and Tibet.
I'd say burn it all down, except I don't want THIS to be the final year of the Hugos.
